A-maze-ing Laughter is a bronze sculpture made by Yue Minjun and is located in Morton Park near English Bay. The inscription reads, "May this sculpture inspire laughter, playfulness and joy in all who experience it.” When the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Surrey ISIP Team organized an outing to English Bay for newcomer Arabic-speaking youth who arrived to Canada under refugee status, we enjoyed mimicking the 14 bronze statues in the joyful spirit that was intended by the sculpture. Making new friends, dipping our toes in the ocean and basking in the warm summer sun lifted our spirits and made us grateful for the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of our new home.
