When you think of summer picnics, what comes to mind? This past summer, as part of the We Live Here program, I had the opportunity to invite a group of Korean families to the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. It was an unforgettable day filled with sunshine, laughter, and live music. The festival offered the perfect balance of relaxation and excitement. Families spread their picnic blankets under the clear, sunny sky, enjoying snacks and conversations while the music created an uplifting atmosphere. Talented artists performed on stage, and food trucks served a variety of delicious cuisines, adding to the vibrant energy of the event.
“This was such a unique experience!” one of our participants shared. “The music brought everyone together, and it felt like a window into Canadian culture. Spending time with other families in this beautiful setting made it more special. I can't wait to attend again next year!”
