On August 22, 2024, SUCCESS and TransLink teamed up to offer newcomers a fun-filled crash course in conquering Metro Vancouver’s transit system. The adventure kicked off at the Tri-Cities SUCCESS Service Centre, where participants armed themselves with Compass Cards and set out to navigate buses, trains, and faregates. Along the way, they mastered trip-planning tricks and learned how to ride with ease. The highlight? A bus driver letting kids take the driver’s seat (don’t worry, no routes were delayed), leaving smiles and future career aspirations in their wake.
This event wasn’t just about transit skills—it was about building connections. Through shared laughs, teamwork, and plenty of questions, participants bonded as they tackled the ins and outs of the city’s transit system. By the end of the day, they left with newfound confidence, independence, and a sense of readiness to explore the city.
