On November 6, the Vancouver Art Gallery welcomed 14 senior newcomers for the Art At Any Age: Moving and Making, a free program designed to foster creativity, social connection, and overall well-being through art.

The event featured an exclusive guided tour - Emily Carr: A Room of Her Own, where the attendees explored West Coast art and its connections with Indigenous culture. During the “Tea and Tour” session, the group was engaged with guest artists and explored the art and body further. To ensure inclusivity, Mandarin and Cantonese interpretation services were provided.

Participants appreciated the opportunity to participate in such meaningful event. “I am thrilled to join this tour as this is my first visit to the Vancouver Art Gallery. Without the support of S.U.C.C.E.S.S., this experience wouldn’t have been possible due to my language barriers,” shared by one participant. Another attendee, a long-time gallery member, expressed gratitude for the event: “I’ve been a member for many years, but I never knew there was a program specially designed for seniors. Through the guided tour, I’ve become more familiar with the gallery’s resources and had the chance to connect with new friends.”
