The Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign participated in a Random Acts of Kindness initiative to support Arabic-speaking refugee families in Surrey. The Grandmothers to Grandmothers team introduced themselves and the work they do abroad: raising money to support grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa who raise millions of grandchildren and vulnerable children orphaned by the AIDS pandemic. This support enables thousands of grandmothers to access nutritious food, money for children’s school fees and supplies, as well as access to vital health care for themselves and their grandchildren. More information can be found at: grandmotherscampaign.org. Grandmothers to Grandmothers actively worked towards gathering donations from the Surrey community to help support their Act of Kindness towards the participants of SUCCESS ISIP’s Women’s Health Support group. Participants were engaged in discussions around diet and exercise. This gave the participants an opportunity to practice English conversation and learn from the Grandmothers’ experiences living in the Surrey community. Following the group discussions, the Grandmothers’ distributed individual baskets filled with various hygiene and healthcare products to participants. Thank you, Grandmothers, for your generous support and kindness!
