Vaisakhi is one of the biggest events for the Sikh community all over the world as it celebrates the birth of Sikhism. A parade started from Dashmesh Darbar Sikh Temple located in Surrey with the main float followed by many other attractions that continued throughout the day. People came from many different countries as well as from different parts of Canada to participate in this parade. Participants were not limited to just the Sikh community but many others. Both sides of the streets were filled with booths from a variety of businesses and community organizations that offered all kinds of tasty foods and many other goodies. It was a clear, blue sky all day, perfect weather for the whole community to come together and learn about the Sikh community and join in the Vaisakhi Day parade festivities. It was wonderful to see people volunteering their time at the event.
