Volunteering to carefully place welcome tags on soft plush animals for the “Softies for Love” project is indeed a labour of love for our amazing S.U.C.C.E.S.S. volunteers who jumped at the chance to support S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s initiative to welcome newly arrived refugee children at Vancouver International Airport with a stuffed toy. An estimated 40% of the refugees that BC received in the past few months were children. Sending a message of hope, these dedicated ladies kept those precious children in mind as they infused the toys with all of their best wishes to contribute to relieving –even just a tiny bit- some of the fears and anxieties that displacement might create.
