The Burnaby/New Westminster newcomer volunteer team made face masks with fabric and donated them to the Harm Reduction Centre, Vancouver.

As newcomers, our group of volunteers dedicated their time and talent to make face masks to help out those who visit the Harm Reduction Centre in Vancouver. It was a great experience for our volunteers to show their concern and together as a community to show support in these uncertain times. Here’s what our volunteers had this to say about their experience:

J. Y: “I could get a taste of volunteering which suits my interests and skills. I am very happy to help multi-barriered folks in our community. I felt that I am valuable and productive”.

Kelly: “It was my first volunteer experience since I came to Canada. I really appreciate this opportunity to help others during this pandemic. I also increased my own knowledge of community resources through volunteering and felt more connected and involved in the community.I would like to continue volunteering for community”.
