Setting up for Diwali at the Queensborough Community Centre was so much fun! We eagerly jumped in to help with venue setup and refreshment services for the much-anticipated Diwali event. This event was co-organized by Queensborough Community Centre and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. to celebrate a very important tradition for many members of the South Asian community.
Community members and volunteers enjoyed spirited performances of martial arts, traditional and Bollywood dances, henna, turban-tying, etc. Many had their first taste of delicious curry, samosas and pakoras, all thanks to the generosity of the local gurdwara!
