On a sunny summer day, our newcomers volunteered at VanDusen Botanical Garden for their annual Pollinator Days. Pollinator Days is a 3-day event that welcomes hundreds of elementary students to learn about the pollinators through a 55-acre living classroom at VanDusen Garden. As Way Finder volunteers, we first had the volunteer orientation and training, and then we started directing the students around the garden and providing the information on various interactive stations. Our group had so much fun not only volunteering at the amazingly charming garden as a guide to over 200 students but also the unforgettable opportunity of learning the importance of pollination. It was a remarkable experience to get involved with the local community and to build a sense of belonging.
