Deep appreciation is extended to Yousef and the Surrey RCMP for their contribution and outstanding support to our agency in Surrey & the Fraser Valley. The RCMP works and collaborates with our Immigrant Settlement and Integration Program to coordinate “Introduction to Policing” educational sessions for newcomers. They sit on a number of community stakeholder committees and also participate in events such as World Refugee Day organized by many settlement organizations, including S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
Yousef shared that Surrey is one of the most diverse cities in BC and Canada -so working with newcomers allows the RCMP to learn more about our constantly growing city to better serve the community. Yousef also expressed that he enjoys meeting new people, learning more about different cultures and feels a strong sense of satisfaction from making a difference in somebody’s experience in Canada.
