(Lisa Burden accepted the award on behalf of the Surrey Food Bank.)

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. began working in partnership with the Surrey Food Bank in April of 2017 to help provide outreach services to Arabic-speaking newcomers accessing their services.  With the mutual understanding of the needs of newcomer clients, the flexibility, accommodation and support showed by the Surrey Food Bank has been vital in assisting Arabic speaking clients to understand the Canadian social service system and be able to utilize services offered by both agencies. In addition to providing direct outreach services, we have collaborated with the Surrey Food Bank in other programs like the "We Volunteer Here Program", where the Food Bank staff welcomed 20 newcomer clients from the Chinese and Korean communities to volunteer their time to help with the food distribution program.

Surrey ISIP acknowledged the dedication, commitment and hard work of the Surrey Food Bank as they support the settlement and integration of immigrants and refugees in the Surrey region.
