National Indigenous Peoples Day is a day to celebrate and recognize the cultures and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis  peoples of Canada. This year, newcomers visited Trout Lake to celebrate this wonderful day together. For most of our newcomers, it was their first time to experience  indigenous culture. They got to taste bannock, watched performances and appreciated  traditional arts. There were also vendors selling beautiful traditional jewelry and artwork. It is an event filled with both meaning and fun. We look forward to celebrating Indigenous Day again next year!
